CIEP Network EDITO 2024/1

In 2024, we have decided to initiate the CIEP Network newsletter to maintain engagement with our training camps participants and those interested in exploring CIEP´s activities.

Building connections during a training camp offers a valuable opportunity for sharing. However, it is important to stay in touch to continue exchanging information, keep you updated on new developments and training ideas, and get your suggestions to improve our content.

Please feel free to share your results, which can serve as an inspiration for others aiming to enhance their performance.

I'd like to thank you all warmly for taking part in this initiative, which will enable us to adapt our teaching concepts and devise new ones.

Claude RALUY - President of CIEP

CIEP DISCOVERY

Do you know the CLAP club in Montmartre, Paris? Have you seen the CLAP en DANGER posters? Our trainer Petr "Pierre" Fuksa had the opportunity to play on these beautiful courts with Cathia, one of the CIEP trainees and an important person in the Montmartre district.

CIEP ONLINE

In 2023 we tested it...and in 2024 we launched it! We currently offer 2 CIEP ONLINE coaching programs to our trainees. The idea behind CIEP TRAINING is simple - you send us a video identical to the one you made on your course (a point and shoot from the front and a point and shoot from the side) and then we view them together online in a ZOOM session. This allows you to see the important details that you can work on before returning to Sergines, France or in Prague!

In our experience, after 3 sessions, participants save 1 to 2 days of training when we don´t have to correct details that we´ve seen together on the previous training camp.

This formula enables you to continue making progress and stabilize the advice given during the camp.

You can find out more about CIEP ONLINE and a special offer of CIEP TRAINING at the occasion of the first edition of CIEP Network here.

CIEP TRAINING CAMPS

We've got it! The dates for training camps at Sergines, France from September to November 2024 are set! Did you know that if you've already taken part in a camp, you can benefit from preferential conditions and your 4-day program will be different from those coming for the first time? But don't worry!

There will be a common part of the program so that you can share your passion for pétanque with others. And of course there are always opportunities to meet new people during our lunches and dinners!

CIEP INTERNATIONAL

We have been working for two years on the project to create CIEP SWITZERLAND. Now, on the occasion of the European Championships in Martigny, Switzerland, an agreement has been signed by Claude Raluy, President of CIEP, and Jean Denis Willemin, President of Swiss Pétanque Federation FSP.

The Swiss federation sees this as a means of promoting the discipline and attracting new members, as well as training trainers who will be entrusted with missions with the same pedagogical guidelines.

The CIEP Switzerland will thus be in a position to address a public (young players, beginners, the disabled, etc.) by offering them activities corresponding to their objectives.

The main aim is to invite people to play pétanque by applying a philosophy of sport, whether for leisure or competition: it's a way of behaving, a way of being.

CIEP SUCCESS

The last few months have been marked by the success of players taking part in our training courses.

A total of 5 of the 8 players who were quarter-finalists in the USA women's doubles World Championship qualifier took part in a CIEP training course in St.Rafael (California), Sergines or Prague.

The Czech triplette (see the photo) made up of: Jan Maňák (CIEP training camp in Prague), Jindra Vodehnalová (trains regularly with CIEP in Prague) and their teammate Jiřina Müllerová won the Czech 55+ Championship and will take part in the European 55+ Championship in 2025.

Almantas Burneika in Lithuanian colors won the Nations Cup at the 2024 European Championships in Martigny in mixed doubles with his wife. Congratulations !

CIEP TACTICS

We'll prepare a tactical workshop for you in every CIEP Network edition. It consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. Look at the enclosed drawing of the game situation with the specifications for court, distance and other elements. What decision would you make if you met these criteria?

In the practical part, prepare this workshop on your own court, which may differ from our specification. What did you do in this case? Was your decision different?

Write to us at fuksa@petanque-pro-vas.com and we'll publish the most interesting experiences in the next issue of CIEP Network, along with the new tactical workshop.
